On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Masyarakat Berdaya Peduli Lingkungan (MASBERLING), fostered by PT Petro Oxo Nusantara (PT PON), conducted a MASBERLING Cadre Strengthening Program along with training on organic waste processing and biopore implementation at Rumah Prestasi Go Green, Malang.
This activity served as both a learning forum and a field study opportunity for the cadres through a visit to Kampung Semar in Malang City, an environmental education village recognized for successfully fostering a community culture that is disciplined in cleanliness and waste management. During the program, the cadres received in-depth knowledge on community-based environmental management, particularly in organic waste processing, the utilization of biopore technology, and the concept of “water savings” through infiltration wells as an effort to prevent waterlogging and flooding.
In this training, the cadres also received direct insights from Ir. Bambang Irianto regarding the importance of building public awareness of cleanliness and environmental sustainability through simple actions that can be implemented within surrounding communities. He is widely recognized as an environmental pioneer for successfully developing community-based water conservation and environmental management initiatives in Kampung Glintung. Through these innovations, he has received numerous awards, ranging from the Kalpataru Award to international recognitions.
The cadres were also equipped with the understanding that limited land availability should not become an obstacle to creating a productive, beneficial, and sustainable environment. Through this activity, MASBERLING cadres are expected to apply the knowledge and experience they have gained, particularly in waste management, biopore implementation, and water-saving management practices. These efforts are expected to support better environmental management in areas surrounding the company that face similar flooding challenges by adopting best practices that have been successfully implemented in Kampung Glintung, Malang.
